In my previous experience they only detect if there is save data available. They don't know what that data contains (so it wouldn't know what was in the game inventory). But I only play a small number games a lot and not a lot of games a little :) so it could be more common than I think to have cross game data.

We'd like to delete the Family profile since with each family member having a profile it's redundant.
