UPDATE Received my steam deck. Order placed was on August 29th and received from FedEx on September 7th. Overall still a pretty quick turn around and I had to factor in the weekend and labor day, all which FedEx will not deliver on. Not to mention my impatience and excitement of getting one finally. Then when I woke up Friday morning it was suddenly in Alabama. I immediately called FedEx and they opened a trace. There might be some sort of serial number, but I don't see how it would be remotely read. The only number that would be unique to OP's individual Steam Deck is MAC address but those are a) not guaranteed to be unique b) easily changed. As far as being deployed, the label was only created, technically FedEx never picked it up if the tracking is correct, and when I inquired about it being stuck that way on the 5th, Steam support told me to wait until the 11th had passed to contact them again about it.
