Edit: gear I'd recommend is to stick with the phazerker use an old god or revolter but if you don't have dlc snowshoe or frozen heart. As for guns anything could work just try not to use launchers which could just kill you. Splash weapons that don't have as high of a blast radius would be recommended though.
