Aug 15, 2015 · Marlin 60 feed problem. I have a Model 60 from 1980 that has developed a problem or two. The main problem is that the round seems to be getting "pushed" to the back wall of the receiver and not chambering down the center of the barrel. I did some looking online and did some light sanding of the slide and feed lips but this did not help.In my 60s, 70s, 995 and 99M1 anything over CCI Standard Velocity velocity (1040 fps on box) cycle it. I regularly use CCI SV, CCI MiniMags (CPRN and CPHP), Blazer, Aguila SuperExtra (CPRN), Remington Thundebolt and Cyclone. All with success cycling the action. Take the first two numbers of your serial number and subtract it from 2000, that will give you the year of manufacture. There is an awful amount of info about feed problems in the RFC site. Older model 60s are notorious for feed throat issues. If you look, you will see that the feed throat itself is two pieces, riveted together.
