Technically it’s a slimmer frame because I believe the width of the grip is marginally smaller horizontally if I’m not mistaken. The 30 gen 4 has the regular thick slide with the SF frame. I know the 30 is a sweet shooter in a small package, but it is fairly hefty. All that heft does absorb recoil though. The 30s is thinner in the slide and obviously a lighter gun. The penalty there is more recoil.
