the b58 stock charge pipe is considerably stronger than on previous N5x engines, probably only a 20% chance of blowing vs more like 60% on N5x. wouldnt worry about that unless your pushing 450+ wheel. the stock intakes are rated for 550 crank, just get a washable afe/k&n hi flow filter and it'll do the job fabulously. most ppl just get intakes for the "go faster" vibes and induction ...Then get the manual box that came with several B58 cars then. 2017 G30 540i M Sport [0.00] B58 swap out questions. I spun a bearing in my G30 so I replaced the original engine w a rebuilt long block. I finished the swap yesterday. The only things I've changed that wasn't on the original block was an oil pressure switch. The original injectors are in same cylinders in the new block as are everything else.
