Those are the smallest articulating 4wd's made by John Deere and CaseIH (in those series of course). I would probably recommend something like a Steiger Panther III or CaseIH 9170 ...

Loosen jam nut, turn screw in 3/4- full turn, see if that wakes it up. You will need oil filter housing gasket, and maybe o ring for the cover on pump. The o ring may be ok. jd43. The easiest way to begin diagnosis is to check all the strainers and see what's in them. Our 8640 has a strainer located under the cab I think, it's been a while…. The strainer is accessed facing the rear of the tractor through a flat plug 2-2 1/2" diameter with a 1/2" drive. It is roughly in the area below the clutch.
