Plain and simple so short or long term are not a factor. Hypothetically 1 year after you ar in nextbridge if you were able to sell it would be long term in the us. If under 1 year it would've short term. Doesn't matter when you got mmtlp. The only way it matters with mmtlp dates is if you sell while it is mmtlp. The sec isn't holding this up.
I can confirm that Fidelity is indeed trying to charge $100 to transfer physical share certificates to AST. I called yesterday after seeing that email from Nextbridge.
