Duramax front differential fluid capacity.
Go drive the truck in a parking lot in slow tight circles both left and right. This packs the fluid into all the spots in the diff. If you hear any noise from the diff then you need the limited slip additive. Or just throw it in. Worst case it is a waste of $8. It won't hurt anything if your diff doesn't need it.

As for the diff lube, your owners manual will list the recommended oil type and viscosity. Slightly below fill plug is fine. Only have 5400 miles on factory fluids, but wanted to drain and check everything. Some would say it was a waste, but the fluids were very dirty in my opinion. Also noticed a few metal shavings in the housing.
