She was extremely kind and told me this: They added those visible lines that pop up in the time frame to let the customer know that the test has functioned properly. The ink has gone over it and tested for HCG, and if a white/grey line or anything but pink, that's all it means. That the test has functioned properly and it is NOT a postive result.

Took it out and there was a second pink line, but I obviously know it's out of the testing window. I've had a whirlwind of a time testing and I'm beat on potentially false positives/a possible chemical. Any and all help would be awesome lol.
