38 weeks pregnant dilated 3 cm.

Hi everyone this is my 4th pregnancy and I went to my 38wk appt today..no progression since my last appt since I am only 1cm dilated and was told my cervix is still long/thick. I am suppose to get induced at 39wks since I am 39yrs old and a prior induction with my last one due to low fluid.Anonymous. 08/04/2012 at 11:22 am. I've been 2-3 cm and 50% effaced since 36 weeks so for 2 weeks now and no baby yet. Hard to tell. You can go from no dilation to labor that day or be 4 cm for a month before having the baby. Wish there was more of an answer!
