FYI: Completing "Star Control" before finding all the star cores screws your day. I didn't realize that putting 20 cores into the mainframe would complete the quest. That was fine, except for all the quest markers for finding the remaining cores disappeared. I have no clue where the ones that are still on the Galactic Zone grounds or outside ...
I have found all 34 cores except for the one on the top floor of star control. But for some reason, picking up one of the cores gave me 2 units instead of one. Simply put, I was able to open the display case without having to finish the dlc. If you look at the link I posted it says there are -1 star cores outside the galactic zone.
