I don't think you can watering can mystical agriculture seeds. I think greenhouse glas from actually additions works, also the mystical agriculture growth accelerators work. Other than that they grow rather slowly. Following some guides, it seems the most basic starting point is Inferium Essence along with some regular seeds, but I've not seen any Inferium Essence in the 10 hours at least we have put in. I've read it comes from killing mobs, but we have a falling mob farmer with a item vacuum nearby that doesn't seem to have any essence in it at all.

Strangely enough, they don't drop when playing on a server, but they do drop when playing in single player mode. I tested this thoroughly using fresh worlds with only Mystical Agriculture 1.5.2, Mystical Agradditions 1.0.2, and JEI 4.3.3.269 installed.
